The bit you should read.

I’ve always been an angler and after moving to West Yorkshire from South Wales I wanted to discover what the county had to offer in the way of rivers, lakes and ponds. When fishing in South Wales I often fished in club and winter league matches, however moving up north has presented me with new challenges, venues and angling clubs that I need to acquaint myself with.

This fishing blog details my angling adventures in and around the West Yorkshire area (although depending where I am in the country I also sea fish from both Boat and Shore, Carp, Pike and Fly fish) and will be giving a summary using what I would consider 3 important values, on a scale of 1* to 5*;

1. Fishability *****

2. Accessability *****

3. Value for Money *****

Given the current economic climate I think these 3 points are the key issues which are readily identifiable with all anglers. Feel free to take a look and add your own comments along the way!

Just a quick one!

Just a quick one...

It’s been quite some time since I’ve managed to get a blog out which is quite frustrating, but moving house, changing jobs and reacquainting myself with diving all seem to be things which demand a lot of time. Also the house move has taken me well outside walking distance of any river or lake near. In other words, nipping down to the River Aire for an impromptu morning or evening session is now impossible. With that in mind I have done some preliminary research into lakes, canals and streams in the Pudsey area, but unfortunately the information I’ve found so far has been a bit slim. Although I have been told if I can manage a bit of “Jungle warfare” there are trout to be caught from a nearby beck. So I think the only thing to do is to get out there and have a look (at the beck and a nearby lake) for myself.

I have managed to fit in a few sessions as well as some tackle store reviews in the last few weeks, and should hopefully get these online fairly soon. I’ll also be making an additional page on my blog titled “My Tackle”. This new page will be detailing everything that an angler may need from the basics to the unnecessary, by ranking of;

·         Essential
·         Makes things easier
·         “Tackle Tart”

This will hopefully answer a few questions that I have had about what gear is required when fishing a certain style or fishing on certain types of venues. Also as the year rolls on and since my relocation I will be looking to change Angling Clubs (currently with Leeds). Now living closer to Bradford any input on nearby clubs (large or small) would be greatly appreciated.

Just a quick thanks to those people who have visited my blog over the past few months, there will be an increase in activity over the next few weeks!

Until then, tight lines!
